New York Comic Con 08: The Wrap-up (So Far)

The weekend is over and so is this year’s New York Comic Con. In case you haven’t been following, it’s been a super-crazy few days for Gamervision and TheQuarterbin. Hit the jump to find out what you may have missed.
On Friday, the press got in early, so we got a chance to check out Metal Gear Online, Hellboy: The Science of Evil, and Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution before things got too crazy. Next up was a chat with Graham Fuchs, the executive producer of Activision’s upcoming Spider-Man: Web of Shadows game. We hit some panels in the afternoon, and then went back to the hotel and got ready for Day Two.
Saturday was insanely crowded, it felt like everyone in New York was in the Javits Center, but we didn’t let that stop us from having a good time. I started the day by interviewing the lead designer for Gaia Online’s upcoming MMO (more on that to come), got to check out a panel for Emily the Strange in the morning while Luke went to hear what DC had to say. More panels followed that afternoon, one of which included a clever “announcement” from Top Cow about an upcoming sequel to The Darkness video game.
Luke and I arrived at Javits bright and early Sunday morning, only to find that Activision’s panel had been canceled. That actually worked out, because then neither of us had to miss the Gears of War 2 panel. Even though they didn’t make any major announcements, it was still a lot of fun. And then, what else but more panels? Among other things, we got some info on the upcoming Iron Man and Incredible Hulk video games. Of course, in between all of this, we hit the floor, talked to some people, took some pictures, and did a little shopping. Before leaving, I got an interview with Emily the Strange creator Rob Reger, which was awesome! Check back later for more on that.
Even though the con is over and I’m back at Gamervision HQ, my mind is still racing. We’ve got a lot more to share with you guys both here and over at TheQuarterbin, so be sure to check it all out!
