DC COMICS

Scalped #19

This issue we’re treated to another one-off tale, this time about the relationship between Dash and Carol. I will stand by the statement you won’t find story this good and gritty being put out in any other medium right now. If you’re looking for a great story about redemption, loss, crime and passion, there’s no better place to start than with Jason Aaron’s Scalped. Pick it up for $2.99 to see if I’m right. Don’t worry, I am.

Tiny Titans #6

In this issue… Oh, who cares? It’s fun and adorable. How can you say no to these little guys? You can’t. $2.25 to take this little things home with you. C’mon, they’ll behave.

Trinity #6

Alright, even I can admit last week’s issue, while containing more action and story than the last few, did have a few characterization issues you wouldn’t expect Busiek to commit. But even I know not every part of every story is going to be note perfect. When you’re writing a 52 part story, you should be allowed some leeway. I’ll see what happens this week, and so should you for just $2.99.

MARVEL COMICS

Amazing Spider-Man #566

Last issue we were introduced to the all-new female Kraven. She’s kinda cute for a crazy. Anyway, she spends the whole issue stalking Spidey, and is finally able to capture him by the end of the issue. Or did she? I’m officially back in on Spider-Man with this storyline. You can get onboard for just $2.99.

Captain America #40

Month in and month out, page for page, there’s no better book on the shelf. Ed Brubaker has taken this title to the heights it deserves with the help of several fantastic artists. If you’ve been missing out, I’m afraid you’re going to have seek help. The rest of you can carry on as usual. Make sure to pick this up for just $2.99 when you go to the shop Wednesday. Don’t disappoint me.

Incredible Hercules #119

There smack dab in the middle of a story arc here, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be grabbing this. Greg Pak and Fred van Lente are making a case for this to be the best new book of the year. In fact, I’m calling it right now, no 12 issues of a new book will be as good as the first 12 of this series. See just what I’m talking about for $2.99.

Mighty Avengers #16

Curious to know what events transpired that led to the disapperance of Elektra, and how she was replaced with a Skrull? Look no further than this $2.99 issue, true believers. Promising to give some more background on the current Secret Invasion, this issue should have some answers for those of us who have questions.

There’s no trade paperback or hardcover this week. Save some money for gas.

See you next week.
