Sony’s upcoming DC Universe MMO adds yet another comic creator to its development team. Hit the jump to see just what role Marv Wolfman will play. Does the guy even own a video game system?

Sony had been sending emails (heavily embargoed by the way) touting their secret guest for the New York Comic Con for a few weeks, and in a bit of a surprise, Wizard spoiled the whole thing one week early. According to the magazine in stores this week, Marv Wolfman is a part of the DC end of the development team (Geoff Johns and Jim Lee round out the creators) for the upcoming DCU massively-multiplayer online game. As one of the architects behind New Teen Titans and Crisis on Inifinte Earths, Wolfman will be lending his talents to fleshing out Geoff Johns’ plots for the game.

Honestly, I’m glad that someone with such a history at DC was revealed as the third comic creator helping put the game together… but a part of me is a little disappointed the surprise was ruined. Just how deeply involved Marv is is unclear at the moment, but I’m pretty sure we’ll be finding out next weekend. Which reminds me:  we’ll be on the scene next weekend bringing all sorts of coverage from NYCC, which among other things, includes hands-on time with PS3/PC game and interviews with Johns, Wolfman, and Jim Lee. Sometimes I forget how awesome this job is, then I read a sentence like that, and am reminded just how lucky I am.
