The Quarter Bin

Okay, so I don’t think I ever actually posted when the rumors about Spider-Man: The Musical started rumbling around the internet. Even when it was confirmed, I think I still didn’t quite believe it would ever happen. Well, it is happening. It’s in motion, Evan Rachel Wood has been cast as Mary Jane, and Julie Taymor is directing. The two of them previously worked together on Across the Universe, a movie that critics hated but I absolutely adored, so for me, that’s promising. However, it seems like something is holding up the process: they still haven’t cast anyone to play Peter Parker. Hmmm. That’s probably something they should get on.

The word on the street (via Joblo.com) is that rehearsals, originally scheduled to start in April, have been pushed back to the fall, with the musical making its Broadway debut in 2010. I will probably be there. Am I the only one not completely horrified by this idea?
