Geoff Johns is leaving writing duties on Justice Society of America in the hands of Bill Willingham and Matthew Sturges. But who’s replacing Dale Eaglesham? Today, DC revealed a few pages of Jesus Merino’s upcoming stint.
From DC’s The Source:
With Geoff Johns moving on from his long tenure as writer of JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA with the 26th issue of the current series, I’m sure many of you are wondering just what is in store for the world’s first super-team. Well, for starters, we have writer/artist Jerry Ordway stepping in for a stint, to be followed by the new regular creative team of writers Bill Willingham and Matt Sturges and artist Jesus Merino. While you may be familiar with the work of Willingham and Sturges — either on Vertigo’s FABLES or their work on SHADOWPACT and SALVATION RUN — we wanted to make sure you knew exactly what kind of ultra-detailed goodness you’d be getting from Merino, so here’s a nice helping of art from JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #29, which you’ll see on stands this summer.
These look pretty good. I’m a pretty big fan of both Willingham and Sturges (as well as Johns), so I’ll be checking out at least the first arc. Following Johns on any title is always a bit of an uphill battle with fanboys, but I think the team taking over can handle themselves just fine. I guess we’ll all find out this July.
