The Quarter Bin

We all know that X-Men Origins: Wolverine wasn’t quite the film we wanted it to be, but how do you feel about a Deadpool movie? Get ready, because it’s happening.

According to Variety, a Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds is already in the works. Of course, it’s in the earliest stages, so all that is known right now (other than it will feature Reynolds in the title role) is that it will be produced by Marvel and Lauren Shuler Donner. I’m hoping that Reynolds isn’t completely wasted in this one, and that the filmmakers retcon most of Wolverine in order to make Deadpool’s representation a bit more accurate to his comic origins.

This is only one of several X-Men movies in the works, which also include a Josh Schwartz-penned X-Men: The First Class (intriguing!), a Magneto movie, and, of course, a sequel to Wolverine. We’ve got a wait before any of these make it to theaters, but we’ll keep you posted when more information breaks.
