The Quarter Bin

UPDATED!! While the rumor of Marvel vs Capcom 3 has been consistently bandied about year after year, this week, that rumor may actually come true.

UPDATE: About three minutes ago, the following Tweet was sent by Ryan Penagos: “In Hawaii giving media a look at something super seeeeekrit. All will be revealed next week.” It appears as if our suspicions were correct that Penagos is at Capcom’s Captivate 2010. Now all we await is word on just what it is he’s there to show off.

As you may or may not know, this week Capcom is holding their annual Captivate event in Honolulu, Hawaii. Now, normally, when and where they’re holding the event wouldn’t be a big deal. Of course, when the editor of Marvel.com, Ryan Penagos (aka Agent_M) arrives at Honolulu International Airport at the same time Capcom is holding their event, my Spidey Sense starts tingling.

Now, you might be chalking this up to complete coincidence, but you’re forgetting one thing. This week is also the inaugural Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo in, well, Chicago, where Marvel, along with many other comic publishers will have a huge prescence. Having the editor, and social network maven, of Marvel.com attending another event at the same time as the biggest comic convention of 2010 (thus far) means there must be a good reason. Not only am I betting that reason is a Marvel-related announcement at Capcom’s Captivate 2010, but I’m betting that it’s going to be Marvel vs Capcom 3. And you can expect the news to carry over from Captivate to C2E2, where the comic-loving community will just about lose their minds.
