The Quarter Bin

It’s Valentine’s Day, which is traditionally a day of either displays of affection towards your loved ones, or bitching about this “Hallmark holiday”. Either way, a web series about the gods of love in a modern world full of messy break-ups and infidelity seems particularly appropriate.

In the season one trailer for The Further Adventures of Cupid and Eros, seen above, you’ll get a look at how colleagues Cupid and Eros go about their jobs in the modern world. Writer/director Avi Glijansky describes it as “filled with adventure, laughs, and modern takes on ancient mythologies, it’s a magical realism fueled-romantic comedy about two love gods trying to set the world, and their own love lives right.”

While the modern-day twist on old stories isn’t new (see Fables, one of my favorite series ever), I’ve never considered that Cupid and Eros could not only be two different people, but best friends working towards a common goal.
